Q: I have a bunch of empty tin cans from veggies. I was wondering if you know a website that sells plastic tops for them so i can use them to store tea and coffee. For some reason I've been having the most trouble finding these. I even tried looking through tin can reuse projects thinking it would be the obvious one but just couldn't find what I need. Please help.

Editor: Eric, it sounds to us like what you're looking for are something like the eco tops from Jack Bresnahan that you see in the picture above. Unfortunately, I think those are still just a concept idea and aren't actually in production anywhere. A similar example are these universal jar tops, but they're made specifically for mason jars. Perhaps you should try to make your own reusable bowl covers?
Readers, any other suggestions?

Try a pet store to see if lids sold for opened cans of dog/cat food will fit.
You can typically buy flexible plastic can covers wherever pet food is sold. Sometimes they are pet- or store-themed, but a little searching should turn up plain ones as well.
I have some that I got from the pet store. It's for if you feed your pet only half the can at the time but also don't want your fridge to smell like dog food. They would also work for your purpose too.
All mine are from pet stores, the inside of the lid often comes with diffirent sized rings to fit multiple sized cans.
There are some snack cans that already come by plastic lids. Either you can keep those, or try out the lids in the veggie cans...
I was going to say find your nearest LDS Cannery, they have flexible lids that fit #10 cans (the big, big cans) for purchase.
I reuse lids from different other "cans", like chips-rolls or instant coffee cans (mostly made of cardboard). The plasic lids fit on many tin cans.
I wouldn't reuse cans because they are usually lined with plastic that contains BPA.
