Q: I've been trying to find fabric like the fabric used on these two chairs and have completely failed. I've looked everywhere I can think of and still am coming up short. I'm trying to recover 2 vintage chairs with teak arms/legs and think a print/color like either of these would look AMAZING. I would love any help I could get from you and your readers trying to locate something similar.

Commercial Flour Sa...
They are Thomas Paul fabrics by Duralee.
The turquoise floral looks similar to the Stockholm/Sungold pattern from Calico Corners. They don't have it stocked in that color, though:

A similar-ish pattern, but in that color might be this (also from Calico Corners):

Oh, and here's the fabric for the other chair:

Hmm, looks like that URL didn't convert to a link. Here's another try:

This is the entire collection of fabrics here:

I had the same problem looking for the yellow bird print on Target's chairs. I found that it is only available to to the trade and not retail, but if you call around you find a store who can order it for you. Try to find a few—there was a huge price difference between the first place I called and the second for the exact same fabric.
In effort to find ikat fabric for a similar chair from Urban Outfitters, I ended up using a shower curtain. Try looking at fabric items that are meant for a different use!
I blogged about it here: http://www.jillyotz.com/2010/05/elusive-ikat-fabric.html
If all else fails, try fabric.com. You may not get the exact fabric, but their prices are good and they ship quickly. I made curtains from fabric I bought from them and love them.
yeah, Thomas Paul.
Are these upholstery fabrics? I'm trying to redo a chair and it's been nearly impossible to find a modern pattern in a color I like in stores. Is there another type of fabric that would work well on chairs (similar to above, not full armchair)? I'm not exactly sure what to look for or where, especially without spending a ton of money. Ideas?
The other thing I've done before when trying to find a really great upholstery fabric, is I went to Anthropologie and bought something there with a fabric that I liked- it was either a doormat, or a tough pillow cover- something like that, and I reused it as the seat of a bistro chair. If you don't have to cover that much of a chair, their patterns are really special and fun. Plus washable. :)
You can get the thomaspaul for duralee collection at retail at calico corners, but only select patterns/colors, velocityartanddesign.com sells the entire collection direct to consumers, visit their site to order any pattern/color.
I've gone the alternate fabric route too - just did my dining room chair seats with a single curtain panel. Probably cost me less than if I were buying it by the yard and I got a more updated fabric to boot!
Weavers Fabrics in Niles carries the entire Duralee line. These fabrics are current and available.
I ordered an ottoman in the floral fabric. I LOVED it for about one month, but the fabric was not really upholstery grade and one year later it is really really shabby (not chic). I recently recovered with upholstery grade fabric and have my fingers crossed. The fabric is adorable, but not very durable.
housefabric.com carries duralee. Not sure about this pattern though.
I have curtains made out of the floral - bought the fabric at my local discount fabric store (FM Fabrics in Springfield, MO) for $8.99 a yard. I love the fabric - makes me happy every time I walk in my living room!
Hah! I immediately thought "Duralee" - and then I read everybody's responses. :-)
Thanks for all the comments and tips - you all are the best! I'm going to check out all the websites as soon as I get home!!! :)
you might find something here:

they have good discounts and good quality upholstery fabrics.
Hello from Calico Corners - Calico Home...
Yes, these Thomas Paul designs for Duralee are carried at the Calico stores--the large stylized two-color floral is STOCKHOLM and Calico has it in Berry, Cherry and Sungold colors (sorry, not the aqua). Stockholm is $22.99/yard.
The multi-color floral is pattern DAHLIA and this color is Aegean. There is a Brown color also available. Dahlia is $22.99/yard. Both patterns are available online at www.calicocorners.com or through the stores. Many other stylized patterns are available too--not just from Thomas Paul, but also from Iman Home, Thom Filicia Home and DwellStudio.
Although these fabrics are multi-use, we would recommend them for light upholstery only--not a family room sofa. Happy decorating!
Jan Jessup, Calico Corners
Lewis and Sheron sell these fabrics as well. http://www.lsfabrics.com/
