I've had the unfortunate luck of getting sick twice this winter (I woke up this morning with the second occurrence). There is one room in the house that rises above the rest when I'm sick.
I love laying on the couch with soup and hot tea while watching tv. I'll take a break (from such hard work, right?) to go to the bedroom and nap (the best way to cure a cold!). There's nothing like cozying up on the couch with your favorite throw and comfy pillow when you're feeling under the weather.
Some people prefer soaking in the bathtub, whipping up their favorite chicken soup, or sleeping the cold away in their bedroom. All four sound like great ideas right now, if you ask me!
Being comfortable and cozy are my secrets to overcoming the common winter cold &mdash no matter what room you're in.

When I am sick, only a horizontal surface will do. I prefer lying still and sleeping as much as possible so my body uses all its energy to fight the illness (or the hangover). The first thing my boyfriend does when he feels sick is take a shower, but I hate bathing when I'm sick. It takes too much energy, and gives me the chills!
I'm usually in my favorite comfy chair covered in a blanket while watching TV or reading. I always make sure to have a nice hot cup of tea with honey sitting nearby...as well as my tissues, cough drops and whatever other necessities I need.
I pull my sleeping bag out from the closet and stay cuddled up inside until I'm better--usually on the couch and with a movie and a bowl of chicken noodle soup. If I have to walk anywhere, I stay in the bag and walk around the house like a mummy!
I wish I could soak in that delicous black clawfoot tub! It's simply beautiful.
*it's delicous AND delicious!
I stay warm and cozy on the sofa, with a handy stash of liquids nearby to keep me hydrated. I nap and watch movies until the cold goes away...
Anywhere but the office -
Too many people going to work with their colds and spreading germs in the office and on mass-transit!
A long hot bubbly soak in the tub does it for me. The buoyancy seems to ease the aches and pains and loosen taunt muscles. Lavender scented bubbles are the best too. I have been known to fall asleep, and wake when the water gets too chilly.

Sounds like someone needs a snuggy :P
me too! it's kinda strange, but when I'm well I hardly use my couch, or my living rm at all - mostly leaving it pristine for the unexpected guest - but when I'm sick it's all mine - and I don't even care if there's empty soup bowls and kleenex boxes on the coffee table, along with all the other stuff that seems to accumulate when your sick.
My favorite place when I was sick growing up was on the floor, curled up on a big floor cushion, wrapped in multiple blankets in front of my parent's fireplace. Now, if I happen to be able to stay home when I'm sick, it's on the couch with tissue boxes and multiple glasses of water so I don't have to get up to refill them. Unfortunately, when I was working, I was known to be at the office with strept throat because we worked on deadline, and now that I'm in law school, I can't miss more than 4 classes of any class, meaning I'm at school in yoga pants and a sweatshirt, carrying about Purell so everyone can disinfect themselves after coming into contact with me. If I could pick, though, I want to be in that serene living room, prone on the couch with my dog the next time I'm sick.
Shower or bed. With lots of Gatorade.
I like to alternate between the couch and the bed. I try to sleep as much as possible, as MegP does, so that my body can heal itself most efficiently. When I can't sleep any longer, I make my way to the couch with blankets, pillows, a book, and hot tea.
If I have a cold or sore throat I also like to take nice hot showers or baths to clear up congestion. However, if I'm feverish the last thing I want to do is get wet. I shudder just thinking about it!
I like to stay in bed, comfy, warm and left alone.
When the cold feels like it's almost gone, i like to take a bath, wash my hair and change the bed linens (toothbrush too).
This way, it feels as though whatever was in my body is finally being washed away out of my life.
The sauna works for me. In fact, it works so well that I haven't gotten one cold or flu all year since we installed it!
:)
Definitely my bed, with hot tea on my night stand and surf through tivoed programes.
It depsend on what kind of sick, luckily its been a long time knock on wood. Flu for the flu hot bath, cold shower, water, ginger tea and bed. If I have a cold I like to go outside for a few short walks and rest. I find the fresh air helps.
If anyone is getting a cold or has sinus issues right now I recommend this stuff called Olbas Oil its the best you can put some on your pillowcase, drops into your bath or mix it with a balm or oil. I love the smell so much I am using even though I am not sick, lots of healing power. You can buy it at most health food stores or health pharmacies

Depends on how sick I am. Canning with a cold is nice because it warms the kitchen and the steam helps me breathe but if it's the flu I'm curled up on the couch under my down comforter reading or watching movies and dozing.
I also like a nice hot shower when I'm sick, it helps with the breathing and with the aches and pains.
Bed, please. When I am sick, I turn into a big baby and all I want to do is drink 1/2 a bottle of NyQuil and lay down until it is all over.
Alternate between bed and bathtub, especially if I have fever and/or body aches. I've been known to take five baths in one day (even getting up in the middle of the night to take one) when I'm sick. It's the only way I'm able to relax and sleep well.
