I have to keep mine in my entryway, turned entry table into a desk. It is also where i would like for my landing strip to be, so I am looking into some wall mount options. Can I get a cycloc in the States? The website showed it in UK.

I own a turquoise blue cruiser with a basket. I display mine in my living room because it really brightens my space and adds a dash of whimsy. Now my boyfriend's black mountain bike on the other hand, is hiding in the spare room!

i have a large utility closet in my very small apartment, which could fit like 3 or 4 bikes. but since i ride it so much and that takes effort, i usually just leave it in the foyer leaning against a wall or my bookcase. i think i'm going to get a wall mount for it thoughm so it's not like always in the way.

mine sits where my dining area would be if there wasn't a bike there. I've been looking for a good wall/ceiling mount option, but i also don't have tons of space on any wall to put a mount.

I lock my bike to the railing in front of my apartment, and cover it.

my neighbor has a cool pulley that lifts it to the ceiling and then you wrap the cord around a cord holder in her garage. but the cycloc is great! that looks easier than a pulley for kids bikes.

I have three bikes in the basement. Don't worry, I ride two of them regularly. (The third one--my Schwinn Collegiate -- is awaiting repairs.) My building has a laundry room / bike storage area. It is a luxury that I really appreciate.

Previously in my smaller apartment I tucked it behind my headboard in the bedroom. It jutted out a bit, but there was just enough space to bring it in and out on a daily basis. Besides the handlebars sticking out, it worked out great. The Cycloc looks great though, going to have invest in one of thsoe.

currently i'm storing my bike on the balcony, but as summer approaches, i'd love to use the balcony for outdoor things, so we're trying to figure out what to do with it.

that and i'm getting my wife a bike for her b-day. and if i could really figure out what to do with them, i want to get a 2nd one, a nice comfort bike for around town instead of the mountain bike.

i haven't found a wall system that will work quite right yet. i have a full suspension, so the frame is weird and doesn't fit most racks, and the one she is getting is a ladies comfort, so the frame is weird too. i've seen the top bar adapters, but those are like 30 bucks each...

I second the nice jay ryan prints. i have the ferris one in the hallway and need to frame the alkaline trio skeleton one in the tube.

oh and we rent, so i don't know how many holes i should be putting in the walls. at least the kind that will attach a rack that is strong enough to hold a bike.

Right now I keep my bike in my parents garage because they live fairly close. I am trying to figure out where to put it in the apartment so I can use it for errands and such instead of just the rare weekend trail ride. We have big beams running across our ceiling and I am thinking about hooking it up there in a corner somehow.

I have a Dahon folding bike (weighs under 30 pounds and folds to less than 2 feet wide by less than 3 feet long. Fits beautifully into the one and only closet I have.

I have a Dahon folding bike too! I have the Jack, its a full-size mountain bike that folds in half. I keep it in the front hall closet during the winter and in my car's trunk during the summer. I used to keep my full-size bike in the community room of my condo building until it was stolen.

When we lived in the city (SF), we had the bikes mounted on the walls using watering hose hangers, the two mountain bikes under the raised bed and the two commuters shoved into the closet (The surfboards lived above the kitchen cabinets).

Now that we have moved, we now have a bike room, and will soon have a bike shed!

In my bike room, er, second bedroom. I reduced down to 2 bikes when I moved into this condo, but am back up to 4. I have a wall mount system that stores 2- one high and one low. I am about to start hanging all 4 from the ceiling to free up the floor space. I will use some type of trimmed out 2x4 with hooks, hanging them by a single wheel each, angled to reduce how much they stick out from the wall.

Mine and my roomates bikes sit on puzzle foam mats from Target in our living room near the front door. It works really well for those quick trips to somewhere on Elmwood or Allentown. We rent and the foam mats were the only way I could think of to keep our bikes off the hard woor floors and not have to put holes in the walls.

my apartment came with 3 closets. a linen closet in the bathroom, a coat closet in the main room and a "walk in" closet in the main room. the "walk in" closet is mainly just that. its deep enough to step into, but only 2.5 feet wide. but hey, its the right shape for my bike. so that's where it goes.

I use a wall/ceiling hook sold by the Container Store, it's simple, small, and c-h-e-a-p!. Bought one for work and one for home. Hang the bike by one of the wheels, and it keeps your floor space clear. I'd say it works best tucked into a corner or near some vertical element like a bookshelf (or in my case, a tower of flatfiles).

I had a small pantry area off my kitchen (about 3.5' x 2.5' with built in cabinets. I was able to store my bike vertically, wedged between the walls and the cabinet, with just the rear wheel on the ground. I had a curtain over the doorway. But when I moved to a small studio last month, I decided to sell the bike. There's just no room, and I only rode it recreationally.

I've got a little storage room downstairs, so I use a bike stand like the one in the following link to get my 2 bikes off the ground. It works really well and doesn't take up a lot of space.

my bike spent the winter in storage at work but in nicer weather lives on my front porch. my boyfriend's more expensive road bike has been hanging on the wall in the kitchen. gotta find an inventive way to keep it handy & safe..

This is timeley for me. The only places I can see storing our bikes (3) are outside at our new house. If I cover them with a tarp, is this ok for the bikes? Is it a really bad idea to store them outside?

Apartment building doesn't have a bike room, but we talked the manager into converting one of the parking spaces in the garage into a bike area with two racks.

mattab, so that one works good? it's once i was looking at, and it looks pretty sturdy, i can justify it's slightly higher price then some others if it works good.

How do you know if your ceiling is "sturdy" enough for ones like this, i just have a regular ceiling, will it work or do you have to have like an exposed wood, metal, or concrete ceiling? I could probably use the stud finder to find a sturdy spot.

i think ideally i'd love to have 2 of those to store 2 bikes, keep the bottom empty and then just put then on top and like a bookcase underneath it.

I keep mine on the landing right opposite the outside of my apartment door, against the railing, where it fits nicely and is easily accessible. Only the handlebar sticks out a little and the nice folks upstairs don't mind at all (I live in a 3 unit building on the middle floor). It's the 2 sets of crazy heavy narrow double doors at my building's entrance that cause the difficulties though!

Our bikes were stored in the living room but moved to the study when we put up the Christmas tree in December. It's not easy to move them from there so we don't use them as often as we would like.

My full size folding Dahon that should live in an unused closet, but I park it in my unused dining room for convenince.

We have two Leonardo bike hooks from Delta (http://www.deltacycle.com/product.php?g=57) hanging right next to each other. It takes up a very small amount of space in a corner of our 2nd bedroom.

We use the same hooks from the Container Store that kvh mentioned and hang our bikes in the pantry. this picture only shows one bike, but my husband's now hangs next to mine, to the left and slightly higher.

Great idea to use a garden hose hanger, ttbj. Heck of a lot cheaper than the Cycloc.

Our seven bikes (yes, seven bikes for two people) sit in what would be the dining area if we had a garage (or even a balcony) for the bikes. We bought some bike stands that sit on the floor. You roll the back wheel into them and they hold the bikes upright. We've ended up with our own sort of bike shop in the middle of the apartment, but since it's such a part of who we are, I think it kinda works.

I park mine just outside of our storage unit in the basement of our building. I'm car free and use my bike every day, pretty much. I can't imagine having to haul it up and down three flights of steps that often.

I use a gravity rack that leans against the wall and requires no anchoring (yay, no holes) to keep it stable. I was initially skeptical, but it actually works and it keeps my two bikes sorted.

my commuter is in the kitchen, my race bike is in the pantry. it makes sense to me, anyway. this is in milwaukee though and my apartment is huge for what i pay; hopefully i can find something similar in chicago!
