We've been talking about consolidating our remote controls into one universal remote. We want to do so to eliminate the clutter that several remotes create and also to simplify life in general. What we realized is that &mdash we're still going to have to figure out where to put that remote.

It may seem trivial, but it's a good question. We're huge on keeping our living room spotless and detest when remotes are out in the open (we're crazy like that). It's so easy and quick to just throw the remote in a storage ottoman &mdash out of sight out of mind.
So we got to thinking about ways to store our remote(s). We recently saw posts on Stash the Remote in a Throw Pillow and a great roundup of Best Remote Control Storage Solutions.
We want a modern and unique way to store our remotes, which really attracted us to the Lax Series Coffee Table. The drawer slides in and out to reveal the remote (or whatever else you have hidden away) and then slides back into place to conceal it again. They also have an Entertainment Shelf that does the same thing (we don't actually have a coffee table in our living room).
Where do you store your remotes?

The Logitech Harmony One is on the coffee table. It lights up when I bump the table hard enough. If not it's in the charger. I could care less where the rest of them are.
i would always lose my apple remote in my couch cussions....so thats where i keep it. now its always there when i need it.
We got a leather-looking box to keep on the coffee table. as long as they are in the box they don't look messy and it is realistic to expect everyone to put them away. When we used fancy organizers the remotes strayed all over the house.
I have an app on my phone that allows me to use it as an air mouse and keyboard. Ever since i hooked up the computer to my flat screen i find that i watch virtually no TV. Now all of my remotes stay in the end table drawer and get pillaged for batteries when other gadgets run low.
Hide them
I repurposed a silver vegetables serving dish to hold all the remotes.
