1. Reader thecarlessdriven has it sleeping on an ottoman in the living room.
2. Joel Pirela of blueantstudio has it as a minimalistic desktop computing machine.
3. A number of people have it living in a sexy iPad case on the go.
4. We've seen more than a few individuals using it in the kitchen for recipes, entertainment while cooking, and to keep up with their e-mail.
5. Others have surprisingly found a comfortable home for iPads in the restroom so they can use it while in the bathtub. Rub-a-dub-'swipe'-and-'tap.' Luckily, there are accessories for those paranoid about dropping it into the water.
Where does your iPad live? Do you find yourself using it more than your laptop? Where do you think the best spot to use the iPad in the house is? Where is it inappropriate?

At least until the price comes down, the iPad will only live in my dreams. . .
I can't say mine has a stable life.
I clamp it to the wall in the workshop, take it to work as an adjunct to the computers there, read in bed, listen to it and check recipes in the kitchen... the fact that I'm typing this on the laptop is actually a bit of an aberration.
For now, mine still lives at the Apple Store...
I use mine for reading, web surfing, watching anime, doing homework on-the-go, etc. Sometimes my husband runs off with it to play games or to look up recipes. It will probably replace my laptop for most personal computing because I will have to use my laptop as a dedicated digital forensics lab when I begin my Master's courses. Tesla (yes, I named my iPad) wears a pink Case-Mate Gelli and hangs out on the bedside table, in or on my toolbox, and sometimes on the bed. When he travels, Tesla wears an M-Edge Latitude and is tucked inside a mini messenger bag.
My roommate's cat for some reason on another likes to lay on top of his.
Mine lives in the girliest place in the world: a walk-in closet vanity, on a keyboard dock, surrounded by makeup and perfume. I use an Ikea Ludvig laptop workstation mounted to the wall, and the iPad looks amazing in it. Perfect size, and perfect space for me in my small home.
If laptops are any indication, having it live on a plush ottoman is a bad idea. Knowing there isn't a cooling fan on the iPad, it uses the body of the device to vent the heat out.
But sitting on a plush, soft piece of furniture like that acts as insulation to keep the heat in the iPad.
Yeah, I know, I'm being fussy, but seeing how my wife's family blew a fan in one of their old laptops this way, it's a potentially expensive habit to keep your tech this way.
