Q: I'm looking for an all-natural wool area rug that hasn't been treated with any dyes or chemicals (i.e. stain protectors, fire retardants, etc). I'm also looking for something that's pretty affordable. Any recommendations?

Editor: Ramona, we'd recommend looking at Earth Weave rugs. They make all-natural, non-toxic carpet, area rugs and padding using undyed, untreated wool, hemp, cotton, and jute. No dyes, pesticides, or stain protections are used. They were one of the first carpet manufacturer in the United States to introduce a product line incorporating 100% natural materials, including hemp/cotton backing and no-VOC rubber adhesives.
Prices start around $200 for a 4x6 area rug and go up to $840 for a 10x12, which is comparable to similar sized wool rugs at CB2 or West Elm.
If anyone has had experience with Earth Weave rugs or has other recommendations for Ramona, tell us in the comments!
