Gregory did a beautiful job ending Home Hacks month with a really really cool stenciled floor. Then yesterday, Abby took the stencil to the bathroom wall--a great solution for renters that can't use wallpaper. And it just so happens that we're looking to overhaul our own bathroom with something other than just a coat of paint. A handful of places to buy stencils online, after the jump.

I actually just stenciled for the first time a few weeks ago...
I painted my tv wall in the living room black and did a kinda scrolled filigree/damask type thing in silver. It looks sooo cool. Kind of a pain to do, but I think it was well worth it.
love that moroccan pattern. i still haven't used my rollerwall:

Great post, with useful information I will save!
any suggestions on where to purchase in washington dc?
I can recommend the royal design stencils, and love browsing the stencil library (they have a collection of discounted stencils you can browse). I recently found cutting edge stencil, which is a good source for some modern/graphical stencils.
thank you for this! i have been looking for stencils for a while. most i had found were too country and/or kitchsy
Thank you! This is exactly what I have been searching for!
Or you can just make your own, like I did!!
I just measured the wall to decide how large (lengthwise) to make the square stencil and cut it out of stencil plastic with an exacto knife.

I found Cutting Edge Stencils and I love their stencils! I used one of their damask stencils to do a feature wall in my kitchen and it's absolutely gorgeous!
