Q: Would you happen to have any suggestions for a metal, or steel platform bed? I'm a young male, moving into a new apartment and need a little help decorating (I have no idea what I'm doing). I've searched the internet for days....Nothing, except for CB2 and Room & Board. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you kindly!

White Enamel Four-P...
Have you thought of talking to a metal shop to see if you can get one custom-made?
I have an old brass bed with a metal frame that needed resizing to fit a modern mattress. I could not believe how little it cost to have the frame re-sized.

I have the mobile TV rack, very well built and I like it a lot!
Check overstock.com. A number of their beds, including platforms, are metal but you have to look in the product description to find that out. Their prices are pretty good, too.
This looks an awful lot like the Min bed from DWR.com although it appears to have been painted (nothing wrong with that!). Min has a headboard that you could leave off (it's detachable) if you wanted it to look like the photo.
Room and Board has gorgeous steel beds and they are American made.
Recently purchased the "Perspective" bed from Room and Board and their mattress. An excellent purchase and a very, very comfortable bed. The only draw back is: if you are a 'head banger' during certain bedroom activities, you need to keep in mind where the bodies are in relation to the headboard. On the other hand, there might be others who view this a a bonus.
@ the spammer: go away, the adults are talking.
We recently purchased the Alpine bed from CB2 and are really happy with it. Most of the photos online show the bed in white, but we bought the "gunmetal" color and it looks great. It's powder coated aluminum and has a ledge at the top for things like books or cellphones so we don't need nightstands anymore (we have a very small bedroom so this was a big plus).
@javagirl1972, AT needs a "like" button so I can like your comment! ;)
You're probably not in Vancouver or Toronto but if you are, StyleGarage stocks and awesome steel platform bed: http://stylegarage.com/products1/beds-dressers/ss_bed_low/ss_bed_low.shtml
I bought the Webster from Room & Board about 2 months ago. I had it delivered with the white glove service for only $75 dollars. I got it in natural steel but you can have any color of the rainbow if you want to special order. It is beyond sturdy it doesn't move, doesn't rattle, doesn't squeak or wobble. The headboard is gently curved and you can stack a few pillows for reading or watching TV. Pictures do not do it justice at all.

I would not bother with the metal beds at Overstock. The comments about bent, scratched, wobbles, doesn't line up holes with instructions really clued me in to stay away from the overstock beds. Cheap metal beds could easily dump you in the floor or cave in on you as some of the reviews point out.
Good Luck! Enjoy your new bed.
OH and one last thing the Room and Board beds all have 1" metal slats which fully support the mattress. I noticed all the cheaper beds had legs underneath or second and third bars under the center. I had a bed with the extra leg underneath and it was a pain always slipping on the wood floor and finally breaking and dumping the center of the bed.
That photo is the DWR min bed, but it only comes in gray now. You might be able to find one on craigslist. It does break down and can easily fit into a car or cab trunk. I love mine and found it on craigslist for abot 50% less than full price in new condition.
On decorating (from another dude): What the wife and I did was paint the wall a neutral light grey. Very clean and modern. Then, any furniture you buy can be bright pops of color. Like that orange couch? Go for it!
