Q: This is the exact type of chair I have been wanting for quite some time, but the owner told me she found them in the vintage store and she cannot find the name of the manufacturer. I like it because: a) it seats "low" (I am short - 5 feet tall), b) no arm rests, and c) it is not too big. Anyone know where to find these or something similar?

Target on line or overstock has similar chairs.
Room and Board has several styles like that -
West Elm carries the 'Upholstered Slipper Chair' which is very much like your photo. I have two and love them (I'm 5'3").
Pretty much look up "slipper chair" and it's just that style. I believe it orginally was a chair where you could sit down and put on your shoes.
Hi Kristen,
These are very similar to a deco style chair made by Viking Artline out of PA in the 1940's and 50's. the "slipper chair" recommendation is a good one. These chairs are common at flea markets and mid-century furniture stores. There was one for sale at the avenue A flea market on 11th street. The ladies who run the market have in the back corner. I think it was $25. Worth seeing. You can also search ebay for "Viking" chairs as you might get lucky that way.
Dear severelyvintage,
Thank you for your suggestion, except I live in Chicago for unfortunately trip to 11th st will be too expensive for me..... (Yoko)
IKEA has a slipper chair a bit like that...

I have the Room & Board "Gigi" chair, which is very similar, and I love it. But yes, go look for slipper chairs and you will find a wide range. Good luck.
Cost Plus/World Market recently had a few chairs with similar designs - lower seated armless chairs with fun fabric prints/colors
Can I make you some? www.enroutestudio.com
With all the CB2 ads I'm seeing on this site, I'm surprised no one has pointed to the Scan chair: http://www.cb2.com/chairs/furniture/scan-persimmon-lounge-chair/f5931
Dear Tall People:
Like the poster, I'm 5' tall. Almost all the recommended slipper chairs have standard 17-18"-from-the-ground seats. The classic slipper chair, such as the one shown, are 13-14". Being able to actually put one's feet one ground while seated is the delight of such chairs -- not the armlessness.
