Memorial Day is behind us, it's officially gardening season, and we're on the lookout for outdoor inspiration of all kinds. We've posted a couple of roundups of our favorite gardening blogs, but what we really want to know is... who do YOU read?
To get the conversation going, here are a few blogs that we keep bookmarked for beautiful photos, great tips, and helpful how-to's. It's not so much the size of the space (these bloggers range from balcony owners to rooftop gardeners to full-on landscapers) but rather the ideas and images that keep us coming back.
A BRIEF STARTER LIST
• A Way to Garden: Written by former Martha Stewart garden editor Margaret Roach
• The Medieval Garden Enclosed: The official blog of New York's Cloisters
• Little Green Fingers: A first-hand account of gardening with kids
• Brooklyn Roof Garden: Helpful shopping tips and rooftop gardening inspiration
• The Urban Organic Gardener: Mike Lieberman blogs about growing food in the city
• Brooklyn Farm: Gorgeous photos and good ideas from an urban gardener
• Shedworking: A UK blog all about garden sheds
• 66 Square Feet: Small space urban gardening in New York City

This is Paul James' website of the HGTV canceled "Gardening by the Yard". A ridiculous move on HGTV's part as this show was one of their best. He offers real life advice that is practical and of use to beginning through advanced gardeners...plus he has a great personality! His webisodes are entertaining and informative. What a loss HGTV decided to take...I stopped watching the channel for a long time after they canceled his show.
I love Pat Leuchtman's blog:
http://www.commonweeder.com/
and am looking forward to her upcoming book.
Fine Gardening Magazine's Garden Photo of the Day is a must-see for me! The daily entries are warm, inviting, and garden inspirational. It makes me want to actually visit the gardens featured, or upgrade my own outdoor spaces. http://www.finegardening.com/blog/garden-photo
I don't have any must-reads to share, but I love that first picture!

The Gardeners Eden is my daily must read. If you live in spacious countryside like I do, or more compact environments, Michaela has something wonderful to share with you everyday. She's knowledgeable and informative in a fun and casual style. Add to that her flair for fantastic photography, prose and great topical/seasonal drink or brunch recipe. So - I ask you - what else is it you are looking for?
I love Random Acts of Gardening and Lelo in NoPo. They've inspired me so much in my own garden.
If nothing else, read LeAnn's post on pruning gone wrong. :)
http://www.thegardenerseden.com
SnowbirdinVt stated it perfectly... The only thing I might add is that Michaela states everything in language any novice or expert can understand and she answers some questions as well, when she has a free moment :)
I agree with theami: I'm a fan of the Garden Photo of the Day. There are no lengthy articles --just bite-sized blog posts containing fun collections of garden photos, many of which are submitted by readers. This post is one of my favorites: Woolly thyme like tumbling water
I know it's less of a blog and more of a potential AT competitor, but the Garden Design website is always mindblowing- daydream inspiring, thought provoking, consistently well written and beautiful. I'm obsessed.
thegardenbuzz.com, particularly for zone 6+ gardeners who find themselves farther north.
http://chiotsrun.com/
love suzie's post.. she does everything organically and preserves, recycles when possible. great blog.
I die for Urban Organic Gardener and Life on the Balcony. found a new one called Tales of An Urban Gardener that is new and from my town. Great writing, but wish there were more posts. Thanks for the fabulous list of inspiration.
There are so many great garden resources currently online.
Two of my ongoing favorites are -
http://www.studiogblog.com/
and
http://paradisexpress.blogspot.com/
And specifically for those of us on the West Coast, there's
http://www.faroutflora.com/
I'm just getting into herb gardening, so I'm liking http://www.growingherbsforbeginners.com -fun stuff, classes, and cool DIY's on the blog! Also like http://Kissmyaster.blogspot.com (she's so snarky!) and http://GardeningJones.com/blog good growing tips and info!
The Alpine Society's Member's Diaries are pretty good.
http://thegerminatrix.com/
We've just started our first adventure in landscaping. We finished our front yard and we're on to the back yard!!! Definitely going to check out some of these gardening blogs!
Great low water, succulents etc....
Just beautiful
You are all missing out if you aren't following The Gardener's Eden at http://www.thegardenerseden.com/
Fantastic photography. Great writing. Inspiration for your own garden spaces (indoors and outdoors). Down-to-earth advice. Never pretentious or intimidating. Great recipes for garden fresh produce (including adult beverages!). This is horticultural passion and garden writing at its best.
And besides all that, the author is an artist and dang cool human being as well.
New organic gardening website www.plantyourown.com
Check it out!!!
I came across this blog some how and love the daily tid bits and inspirations.

The Gardener's Eden
http://www.thegardenerseden.com/
It's written by some one who actually knows about gardening. Great photography too!
Not a blog but perhaps the best public garden to lear about gardens and planting material is Wave Hill. http://www.wavehill.org/home/
I love, love, love Digging:
www.penick.net/digging/
and also The Grackle:
www.penick.net/digging/
Both Austin-based gardeners. I "garden" in Houston, which is somewhat less dry. But we're close enough in climate, and I just try to soak up the style presented by these bloggers!
I just love this blog about succulents: http://www.faroutflora.com
http://shapingspaces.blogspot.com/
Shaping Spaces is a great blog... it's a bit more focused on urban landscapes than gardens but there's lots of inspiring posts that can work on smaller scales.
Others have said it before and better but: http://www.thegardenerseden.com/
It's like a mini vacation plus a chat with your best friend.
My favorite daily home and garden read is http://www.thegardenerseden.com/ - always something new and fun, eloquently written, amazingly beautiful photos, practical and inspirational information from an artist and experienced garden designer - my daily inspiration to be creative, and to embrace the riches around me.
Another garden blog I follow is http://blog.phyllisodessey.com/
Garden design and art, great photos - a fun and refreshing perspective from an experienced designer, a smorgasbord of food for thought about the world of design and gardening.
As a somewhat inexperienced gardener, I love a Nest for All Seasons. Great tips on responsible gardening and even better photography. http://anestforallseasons.blogspot.com/
The best books and blogs have to come from your planting zone. Living in the midwest, getting planting/growing information from Florida may be interesting, but of little or no use to me and my garden.
I love thegardenerseden.com . The photography is utterly beautiful, it makes me feel I'm right there. Michaela is very knowledgeable about both flowers and vegetables. She's also a wonderful writer. It's a winning combination.
I'm not much on blogs but when someone told me this one was a winner, I had to see for myself what a winner really looked like. Although far from Texas this lady inspires me to do new things at home. Writing, photos, and knowledge all wrapped up in one.Plus a sweetheart to help and answer in any way she can. Inspirational.thegardenerseden.com gets my vote for a must see EVERYDAY.
The GardenersEden.com is a must read! I subscribe to her blog via her (Michaela's) facebook page. She is super friendly & helpful. Her blogs are full of whimsy, inspiration, gorgeous photographs, tons of gardening advice, and even some recipes thrown in for good measure. And she seems to attract some awfully nice fans :-)
Discovered Matt Mattus' 'Growing with Plants' this winter and it went straight to the top of my list of faves.
http://www.growingwithplants.com/
I am biased, but thinkingoutsidetheboxwood.com is my favorite. My husband's blog is written as a landscape designer and professional in the field that shares his knowledge on plants, landscape types, design methods etc. More than just veggies, it is about helping people get amazing landscapes for themselves.
thinkingoutsidetheboxwood.com
These sites were all very helpful! Thank so much for your research.
I love this website, www.gardenware.com.au/blogs I can say they got very nice informations about proper gardening and great procedures too not to mention there website are complete with quality products for a nice garden adventures.
I'm not sure if this blog fits, but The Site Gardener blog (http://thesitegardener.com/blog/) caters the garden industry. They offer information for garden centers, wholesale gardeners and landscapers for improving their business and getting customers involved.
This one is on mine, it has just started and already I find it a particularly good place for Garden Blogs.
I think we gardening bloggers need all the help in finding blogs to read and share.
http://www.bloomingblogs.com
This one is hilarious, but it has a lot of bad language. Some informative stuff though, but in an offensive and funny way! Not for the sensitive types out there! WWW.raginggardeners.com.
Sorry, http://raginggardenrrs.com.
Good grief I can't type: http://raginggardeners.com. There finally!
