We have never really understood the need to have a TV and internet access integrated into your refrigerator, especially since the speed with which that technology evolves is much faster than the replacement cycle of a $2000 refrigerator. It seems that Whirpool has acknowledged this with the Central Park Fridge
Basically a high tech way of replacing the magnets and sticky notes on your fridge, this system allows you to switch between digital photo frames, tablet PC's and iPod speakers just to name a few. At least this way you can upgrade when necessary or switch functionality without having to replace the entire appliance. No word yet on price, but it should be available this fall.
