We have been interested in getting some sort of home automation into our space for a little while and have looked at many of the options out there. While for some, incorporating home automation is a means of making things more convenient, the real reason is to hear your friends go "Ohhh" when the lights dim, shades close and the home theater comes to life.
While still a concept, the White Box Cube by Skoib can give you this reaction not just through the technology itself but the design of the interacting components. The furniture doubles as speakers and screens while controlling scenes is all done through manipulating the white box.
I appreciate the attempt at trying to simplify control through the one box, but knowing what I went through to setup my harmony remote I don't see this happening. Give me this living room setup controlled by a Harmony 1000 and I am a happy man.
