As we watch the race for The White House heat up, Storefront for Art and Architecture, in association with Control Group, asks the question, "What Would the Building Look Like If It Were Designed Today?"
How has life changed in the 216 years since James Hoban won the competition to design the building? For one thing, in 1792, the building wouldn't have been designed with bathrooms or running water. Even the way that we, and our leaders, entertain has changed. If you have a great idea for a redesign of the building, get it together and submit your work before the April 20th submission deadline. Personally, as much as we love architecture and design, we're not that concerned with the building. It's a change in the personnel we're most looking forward to.
