Living in an attic apartment, we're always on the lookout for similar spaces that offer good design ideas. We've had luck finding inspiration overseas, like this multi-unit renovation by London architecture firm Project Orange...

The family that owns the building has held the deed since the 1850s. The core of the building dates back to the 17th century, and additional residential units were added later. Project Orange was hired to update the building and create new living space for the family and rental apartments for tenants.

The resulting renovation, completed this year, is so successful that it has already won awards from the Daily Mail and Designer Magazine.

For photos of the exterior and interior, along with a full project description and a glimpse of the gorgeous family living space (shown in the 2nd photo), check out Project Orange's site.
