There's only three things that can divide a great relationship: money, fame, and control of the A/C. We want to know: When the weather's hot and cheap utility bills are hard to come by, who wins the war over the thermostat in your home?
Despite being a Florida girl through and through, I'm OK with the cold. Each winter in the apartment I share with my S.O., we try to hold off on turning the heat on for as long as possible. But once the weather turns around in the summer and our place starts to get warm, I'm the first one to dust the cobwebs off the thermostat and blast the A/C.
Thankfully, my boyfriend is OK with this arrangement. But each of you probably has your own stories about who takes control of the air conditioner each summer. Is there fighting? Does one person always get their way? Or do you both agree on keeping the A/C off (or blasting it up) each summer?
We want to to hear it all—the good, the bad and the ugly—so share your stories in the comments! And if you have any tricks for your fellow readers for keeping the peace over the thermostat, share those tips, too! Here are some of our favorites:
