Q: I bought four of these chairs on Craigslist and I absolutely love them (yes, I know the upholstery has to go). Only trouble is: I really need eight chairs and the seller only had four. Anyone know who makes this chair? I'm happy to buy retail to supplement. Thanks for your responses!

I don't know who makes them but I LOVE them! Lucky!
It looks deco to me so I would try searching for Art Deco chairs. The only other thing I could think of is to go to a vintage or antique store and see if they are familiar with the maker or style and possibly give you a name.
I tried searching but found nothing.
Good Luck.
It looks like a Biedermeier-style chair. Maybe Vanguard Furniture, Hickory, North Carolina
The back looks like a skull - I'd go all "Day of the Dead" mosaic on that piece. :)
Beautiful chairs!
I love those chairs too! They look like a take off on antique scandanavian chairs. I'd try searching in that category.
Alternatively, search out four plain chairs in the same kind/colouring of wood and upholster them all in the same fabric. This idea would not stop you from continuing to search.
I must be too compulsive but I tried searching Biedermeier and came up with some very similar chair designs so I guess that's your best bet.
Fantastic and unusual! I agree that the upholstery is wrong. The rigid plaid is an insipid contrast to the lovely curves. The straight legs on the other hand, area delightful contrast. Try both a small curvy, foliage prints, and bold, wide stripes.
My wife's grandparents left Germany in 1933, early enough to take some of their possessions. They had a wonderful Biedermeier dining set - tho the chairs were nothing compared to yours. We inherited the buffet, complete with the marks made by the British Mandate customs agents prying the drawers open.
I believe this chair is made by Drexel Heritage from their At home in Tuscany collection. it is called the Lynx dining side chair it is available in custom finishes, here is the link:

About 8 years ago I worked for a furniture store in Florida and sold ton's of these chairs .... They are Swaim and come as an arm chair and a side chair in several finishes. There is also a less expensive "knock-off" but I can't remember who made them ... Good Luck -
they are the chairs in the lobby of Kleinfeld's on Say Yes to the Dress!
I have 2 side and 2 arm chairs Biedermaier Italy Z121 and Z122 (style #) and I too would like to get more - very difficult to find, but I did look at the Drexel Heritage and they seem very much like these and may be easier to locate! I'd be interested in pricing. Another similar option is made by Arhaus.com - they are pricey!
