Certain times of year make us proud to be geeks. May 25th (Geek pride Day), March 14th (Pi Day) and now, Halloween. We're seeing so many cool ways to geek out our fall fest...

Here's a bunch of shots from around the Web featuring geeky ideas for your annual pumpkin carving.

  1. Pac Man, complete with dots and ghosts
  2. Apple and Linux logos
  3. Death Star from Star Wars
  4. R2D2 from Star Wars
  5. Internet Explorer and Firefox browser logos
  6. XBox 360 Red Ring of Death
  7. 8-bit version of Mario
  8. Contemporary Mario
  9. Wario and Bowser
  10. Space Invaders

Some require a little more skill than others, but you should be able to get some inspiration and start designing your own pumpkin. Whether you're a Tweeter who decides to carve a Fail Whale or a gamer who wants to immortalize their console, it's easy to get your idea on a gourd:

Print or draw the design on paper (To make a multi-tonal image more stylized, open it in Photoshop and amp up the contrast.) and tape it to your pumpkin. Then trace around the lines of your design with a sharp point, creating an easy-to-follow connect-the-dots pattern on your pumpkin, Voila! Yoda's face is only a knife away!
