Naturally, Finnish design legend Yrjö Kukkapuro's home and studio is filled with awesome things. One of the most unexpected? A couch he designed in the 1970s that features a landscape on one side. It's unexpected and whimsical, especially paired with white upholstery. I can't paint well enough to pull this off, but if you can, why not use it as inspiration and add a scene from nature to an old piece of furniture?
Even if your tastes run less retro, you could tailor the painting to your decor and to the colors in the room. It seems to work best as just a small touch — maybe the side of dresser, a headboard, or a worn-out side table?
