Art + Charity: Will Draw for Animals 2013

Prints are great, but one-of-a-kind originals are...more great. The folks at Brooklyn-based Orange You Glad design studio are about to host their second "Will Draw For" event. It's a two-day gathering of artists and illustrators who will draw an animal of your choosing in exchange for a donation to a local animal shelter. It's a nice way to get a piece of original art for yourself or your kid and help a furry friend.

Last year's event, "Will Draw for Food" raised over $6,000 for the NYC Food Bank and drawings included chana masala, sriracha, doughnuts, ramen, lemon meringue pie and my son's favorite food - ketchup.

They've already received some fun requests this year (and they love requests, no matter how goofy) like prairie dogs, a rainbow pegicorn, sugar gliders and a fainting goat.

How to participate? Check out the event's Go Fund Me Page, make your $25 or more donation and be sure to include the animal you'd like drawn for you. The draw-a-thon takes place June 21st & 22nd.
