Will Gray Walls Work with Wooden Trim?

Good Questions

Q: I have been lusting after light grey walls for a while, and I'm getting close to pulling the trigger in my small bedroom. I've seen many great examples of rooms that match the aesthetic I'm after, but all seem to have white trim (or no trim at all). Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm concerned that grey might look weird against the light maple trim throughout our house. Unfortunately, we have no option to paint the trim, as we are renting. My question is: is there a style taboo for a reason, or is there a way to make cool, light grey work with a warm wood?
