In Seattle we know rain. There’s the mist, the drizzle, the sunny with a chance of rain, the partly cloudy with mostly rain, and the ever-exciting wet with a chance of thunderstorms. Seattleites are also known for not having umbrellas, mostly because Gortex is our middle name. But all joking aside, it would be great to have with us an umbrella that could forecast the weather and thus telling us when we actually needed the umbrella.
The Ambient Umbrella from Ambient Devices receives weather data from AccuWeather.com. The umbrella handle glows blue when rain, snow or thunderstorms are forecasted and requires no set-up. Weather for 150 U.S. cities is available. This device retails for $129.99 and can be purchased at Ambient Devices.
