Help Us Give Back!
This year, Apartment Therapy is celebrating the spirit of giving by partnering with DonorsChoose for our 2010 Holiday Giveaway. Just as we're giving away something to you, you can give something back by helping us fund classroom projects around the country. Our goal is $10,000 by December 15th. You don't have to donate to DonorsChoose to be eligible to win one of our giveaway prizes; we just think it's a cool thing to do. Need extra incentive? We'll be tracking our fundraising progress every Friday in a special DonorsChoose post, where we'll also reveal what things the Apartment Therapy Staff is willing to do if we make our goal!>> Check out our Donors Choose page now.

Shaw's Original Fir...
Lovely, but please don't encourage people to drive while talking on the phone. It's hugely distracting. Cars weigh over 2 tons making pedestrians and bikers easy victims of any slight driving mishap.
What the heck is this thing??
I've read the description and went to the web site but, I still don't understand what it is.
Of course, I entered to win it though =]
I don't understand this thing... but I'd be happy to figure it out if I win it!
I sure can use one as stylish as this!
skupa - can the same be said about talking to someone in the passenger seat, then, as well?
So necessary in Maryland! And it looks very cool.
I don't understand it either, but it's pretty cool looking.
not really understanding what this is has in no way stopped me from coveting it.
hmmm very interesting!
I want it! even though I'm not sure how it works
The description is intriguing, even tho' I can't figure it out! I do need hands free....
strange
I really need to get out more often...Apartment Therapy website has been very enlightening! I had never heard of this Jawbone before. Great idea.
Good Luck and Happy Holiday to all!
@Kaz I read in one study that talking on a cell phone--whether hands-free or not--diminishes your reaction time way more than talking to someone in the car. I'm not really sure why. I think they said it's because talking on a cell phone requires more concentration since you don't have the benefit of non-verbal cues.
Always, I just thought I'd share since you asked.
If people don't know this is a bluetooth headset, I'd argue they wouldn't even know how to use it. Why bother entering?
Super cool !
I love gadgets that make life interesting!
Not sure who's more of an idiot, Kaz or Matt M. Maybe Matt's comment should be that if you haven't heard all the evidence that talking on the phone while driving, even with a bluetooth, impairs your skills and results in a statistically significant increase in accidents, then you wouldn't know how to use this responsibly. Why not bar the person from entering?
It looks so sleek. It's time to replace my old headset, really!
I've been eye-ing Jawbone products for years. I wish I could have one.
It bothers me when people leave these things on all the time. What science fiction book is it where the people have little robot cockroach things on them?
I have given my coworkers instructions: if I ever start wearing a bluetooth at work, shoot me.
kushkush - and a quick search reveals studies (check wikipedia, e.g.) that claim passenger conversation is just as distracting as hands-free conversation. I will refrain from needless name-calling...
are the giveaways only for the states? not Canada?
oops, just reread the rules! That's what I get for skimming!
i like their jamboxes
yes yes yes!
@kkushkush - what does my comment have to do with talking while driving? It's not like that's the only time you can use a bluetooth headset (although it's the only time I do and do so at a minimum). My comment was directed at the half dozen people saying they don't know what the jawbone is or what it does.
Is that a water bottle? I'm confused.
Nothing like functional art!
Um... it liiks odd...
LOOKS, not liiks. *spellchecker* Oy.
Gadgets don't make my life interesting.
They simply facilitate some things, but I find old-fashioned activities, interactions, & learning make it interesting for me.
strange design
I've heard great things about Jawbone! Would be a nice gift.
Beautiful!
