This year, Apartment Therapy is celebrating the spirit of giving by partnering with DonorsChoose.org for our 2011 Holiday Giveaway. Just as we're giving away something to you, you can give something back by helping us fund classroom projects around the country. Our goal is to get 500 people to donate to public school classrooms by December 16th!
AS AN AWESOME BONUS: If you give $25 or more, you'll be entered into a drawing to win a House Tour feature on Apartment Therapy—your home, your style, photographed by us and shared with our readers. Not into sharing your home? You can also gift that feature to a very worthy friend or relative! 'Tis the season for giving, after all.

Where is the submission form?????
A warm wool blanket is exactly what I need for a chilly winter. It looks like the Daytrip Society's Pendleton Glacier National Park Blanket will work just fine!
That is gorgeous.
What a perfect winter giveaway! I have wanted a Pendleton blanket forever!
I know what my sis is getting for Christmas now ... assuming of course that I win :)
Classic, stylish and warm. This has been on my wish list.
Tradition. Would love to pass this down over the generations! <3
Most beautiful.
OOoh, I have a whole Pendelton pin board! http://pinterest.com/elisha_/pendleton-prints-etc/
me likie.
Hey! That's the Hudson's Bay blanket!!!
What a lovely way to be reminded of some great trips to Montana!
Isnt that the historic Hudson Bay Co. Blanket? at least here in Canada it is-
It IS a Hudson's Bay Blankey! Why u gotta be like dat USA?
Yeah ... another outraged Canadian here (well, as outraged as Canadians get. I guess I'm just perturbed). That's a Hudson Bay Point Blanket done in the traditional Queen Anne's colours. What gives?
Where is the form? It says "Fill out below" and then has a link to the giveaways. Then the link on THAT page sends you back here. I know how to navigate a website, but I'm completely stumped.
You have to be signed in for the submission form to appear.
Weird, just a few days ago I decided I NEED a wool blanket, and have since spent all of my breaks at work this fantasizing about Pendleton blankets which I just can't afford. Fingers crossed!
Hmmm, could it be the blanket design is borrowed? This is the quintessentially "Canadian wool blanket" from the Bay. "The earliest reference to the multistripe pattern is from a 1798." http://www2.hbc.com/hbcheritage/faq/pointblanketfaq/
I've always loved these, reminds me of my grandparents home.
i have wanted one of these for .. Oh I can't tell you how long!!
Bay blankets are only known as Bay blankets today but that wasn't always the case. Historically (18th, 19th centuries) the same wool point blankets were trading by all the fur trading companies. They were made by the Early Whitney mills in Oxfordshire England. When the big Canadian fur trading companies merged in 1821, they kept the Hudson's Bay Company's name. Up until 2007 all Bay blankets were actually just Early Whitney blankets with a Bay logo on them. Other retailers could sell Early Whitney blankets as well, or other mills could manufacture similarly patterned blankets - this is probably what's happening here.
Loving this blanket. Warm and stylish !
Oh that would be an awesome item to win and keep me warm this winter!
I've wanted a Pendelton blanket for like ever!
Yea, it's the same as the Hudson's Bay Blanket BUT the price is much cheaper, isn't it? Best to buy from Pendleton's rather than The Bay!
yay! i've been looking for the perfect blanket...
What better way to stay warm in the North with the snow already falling than to have an amazing blanket like this to keep you warm.
Pendleton blanket???? Just another Canadian chiming in to say "That's a Hudson's Bay blanket if ever there was one!" Probably not a single Canadian that wouldn't be able to recognize it.
A classic!
Proud to be a Oregonian and have Pendleton woolen mills as part of our great state of Oregon. Beautiful as always
I LOVE Pendleton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's an iconic piece for us Canadians. Feeling a little annoyed to see someone else's label on it other than the Hudson's Bay Company. Maybe us Canuks should take it as a compliment?
Ah, we spent our 2011 summer vacation in Glacier National Park. One of the most beautiful places on earth!
Yeah, what Janis said!
HBC: you're being ripped off by your lesser American counterparts. I guess you could say you've made it?
yep. that would be a hudson's bay blanket. highly collectible in their antique form. Cheap knockoff here.
Wow, AT, you've really been getting us Canadians' bristles up lately...
All this bitching by us Canucks is kind of ironic since the bay is now owned by a US company!
A Canadian icon and we can't even win it. Quel dommage.
I love this blanket, it's been on my wish list for a while now. Gorgeous.
toasty warm!! nice.
Not only is this a Hudson Bay Company blanket but it's a blanket that's been made since the 17th century. If you don't win this blanket, you can always buy it at THE BAY store in Canada.
As much as it is a Canadian icon, it's no longer made in Canada. It's made by Woolrich, in a particularly picturesque area of Pennsylvania - and can be purchased here - http://www.woolrich.com/woolrich/browse/subCategory.jsp?icCategory=MM_cat10100&icSort=%27%20and%200=1
(Woolrich is an awesome company, btw, and we've owned their blankets for a few decades or more. Well worth a visit if you're in the area, too.)
The Hudson Bay blankets are not made by Woolrich. They are made by the John Atkinson company in England.
I know I'm late, but this is NOT a Hudson Bay Point blanket. It doesn't have the points (the markers that would be along the side above the colored stripes) that indicate its weight and cost in beaver pelts.
