Wait... it has a remote control? Meaning it is always on? Meaning while it reduces standby power elsewhere, it still uses its own supply of standby power?
if think a bigger benefit on these would be a separate cord that came out of it and ended in a switch. It could be a foot switch like the one lamp we have. But that switch is IN the power line so if you are stretching it a bit from the power source, you end up with he button behind a chair (like us...).
So a separate line with a switch in it so if it was in your entertainment center you could just pull that out the back and do whatever you wanted. Mount it to the back of the tv so now one sees it and switch it off on your way out, or a foot switch near the door, etc.
Neat!
Who doesn't need extra outlets?! :o)
plggd
I actually own this and love it. Its great because I have my big TV, Ps3, Wii, DVD player, Media Center PC, and Xbox all hooked up to the outlets that I can turn off with the switch. I left the cable box and wireless router plugged into the other two always on outlets so that my internet is never turned off. The control can be used up to 30 feet away so I've placed it by the front door near the light switch. That way I always make sure to turn it off on my way out the door.
I can't imagine whatever sensor is constantly looking for the remote control uses more power than my TV would so I consider it a win.
handy dandy
Neat! My office needs this!
Oh so many cords without enough plugs! This would be great!
'Tis the season to abuse all outlets....between trees and decorations, this can come mighty handy.
What a safe way of using our outlets! Good find...
OOOOOh...
Perfect for just starting out!
This looks great but I wonder if it would be safe to use in my in-law. The wiring is from about 1950 and my landlord's never done any work on it. Hmmm, I have so few outlets that it would definitely be heaven sent.... if I didn't set the house on fire.
great for tight spaces
Goodbye surge, stay here electronics. Can't stand all that dimming each time my wife turns on her hairdryer.
Protect me, from all those surges.
I'm always running out of outlets
the remote is brilliant! It would help so much since i live in a small place and the plugs get buried and are not easy to access. You could even turn them off easily when you leave the house to save energy
Great item to have in this economy.
I can always use another surge protector, expecially a nice one that conserves power.
@ shastablasta - Haha!
Thank you for the laughter today, much needed, thank you.
