Q: We are renting a large-ish, older house in Central New York. While we love the hardwood floors and wide moldings the strangely shaped windows and funny ceiling angles have us puzzled. The master bedroom has 7.5 foot ceilings at the highest point with side walls that are 6.5 feet tall. The windows are about 37 inches square and only 27 inches from the floor. We've been looking for window treatments to provide some privacy and are stuck…
What type of window treatments could help the ceilings look higher (or at least not make it look lower) without overemphasizing the difference in wall heights? This blankets over the windows thing is getting old.
