Collecting wine corks can now display more than your taste for the vino, they can display anything you like via this gorgeous upcycled bulletin board. Not only are the corks re-purposed, but their base, an old paneled door, also finds a new life. See another photo after the jump!
Julie Petrella at Home Made cut each cork in half lengthwise and attached them to the door panels with wood glue. See her original blog post about it here. So simple, but so lovely!
If you live near Swainton, New Jersey, you might want to check out Home Made's class schedule. Julie runs a creative workshop to share her skills and inspiration with others.

That's awesome! I have lots of corks and an old door (leaning up in my art room), but I don't know if I'm willing to reuse my door like that. I bet reclaimed pallet wood would look nice, too, though.
Ya know, I think that cork board would look fantastic on its own. The added paperwork just feels (mind the pun) tacky and covers up the great texture created by the cork boards.
I have been saving up my corks for a TBD project (and because I hate to throw great stuff away). I figured I would eventually get around to the standard old "cork-in-a-picture-frame" thing but now I am inspired! Off to the antique store/junk yard/architectural salvage store I go!
this is a wonderful idea but wine doesn't come with corks in Australia anymore. You have to be very picky to get bottles that have them.
Thanks, Re-Nest for including my project in your blog! I love your website/blog and its an honor to have one of my projects make the cut! Alicee, I actually know of some people who purchase wine corks on ebay if you don't have any readily available. Not ideal/free but a possibility for you.
Best, Julie
Julie, so happy to include your project. I'm sure it won't be the last. You're an inspiration!
Great idea. I keep seeing ideas for corks that mention cutting them in half--any suggestion for the easiest way to do this? It seems like a very time-consuming task.
Love it. I'd put that in my home anyday. I made a smaller one. http://www.decorellaknox.com/2012/07/wine-corks-repurposed.html
