Photographer William Waldron's Upstate Farmhouse

Elle Decor

One of the most wintery spaces I've seen in recent years was a story featured in Elle Decor's 2007 December issue showcasing interior photographer William Waldron's wintery farmhouse in the Hudson Valley.

Highlights include painted white floors, unframed impressionistic oil paintings casually leaning against walls, roaring fires, zebra skin rugs, tasteful taxidermy, and an overall "less is more" aesthetic. Every item seems so intentionally placed.

And the space screams winter, doesn't it? So if you're looking to make your space appropriate for the season, take the following cues from Waldron: light your fire, stick with white upholstery, and set up a teepee outside.
