A find most cord management systems to be fairly useless (they are always pictured with like 3 wires, which looks great, but obviously if you only have 3 wires you probably don't need a cord management system).
I have the KVISSEL system from IKEA (first picture). It's not really a cable management system so much as a box to hide your surge protector. It makes everything look pretty but it doesn't do much in the way of actual organization. I think if you are spending more than 10 or 15 bucks on a cable box then you are wasting money.
And for those of us on a budget, I've learned from playing with other musicians that twist ties, velcro strips, and shoelaces also work really well for taming cables. :)
When wrapping up your cords, always give a lot of slack where the wire comes out of the charger and connector, as they get the most stress from excessive bending. The Goldie CableKeep shows how NOT to do it (note how the cable is bent coming out of the connector).

If you are having that issue then consider gluing some small weighty objects to the underside of the lid. I find that the lid stays on OK if you don't try to use the hole in the top of the lid (as pictured) to access wires.
Those ponytail holder hair ties with balls at the end also works well.
