Using inductive charging, similar to Candela electric lights, these forthcoming wireless chargers requires a single mat plugged into the wall and devices that contain the appropriate components. Simply drop your gadgets onto the mat, which could easily be hidden in a box or drawer, and let them charge out of sight. No unsightly wires to clutter your space. They need to make a bigger one, but I'm getting this anyways! I read that Apple is making their version of this too, so I can't wait to see this technology take off!
Holy !@#%! That's awesome!
wow, I didn't know that was possible. What will they think of next?
is it me, or should that thing be called the cancer-o-matic? how is that possibly not dangerous?
From what I understand of this technology, energy is transmitted via long waves, which are harmless to organic tissue. On the other hand, the short waves used for cell phone communication is much much more harmful, and you're holding that next to your head!
Something tells me these things won't be cheap.
Besides long waves, they will be very short range. Meaning unless you're using this thing as a pillow, I think you'll be fine.
If it's plugged in all the time, is it using electricity all the time?
