Classic, safe, eco-friendly toys. That was Rachel Knight's goal, and she has achieved it by opening up Wishing Tree Toys, dedicated to beautiful wooden children's puzzles.
Made from non-toxic basswood, these natural wooden toys, designed by Japanese sculptor Mitsuo Shimizu, have the smooth finishes and rounded edges little kids need, crossed with a whimsical aesthetic that can be appreciated both by kids and their parents.
On the right is Mama Cow and Joey. For such a simple design, it is amazing how expressive their cow faces are. This puzzle is just $12.00. Check out a few of our favorites from Wishing Tree below.
Simple and soothing, the Ocean Life puzzle isn't hard to solve, but its sculptural elements let it serve double duty as a piece of nursery art. $12.00.
The Farmhouse is a 14 piece puzzle, $15.00.

Kiki the Rabbit is only 3 pieces in size, one of which is a lovely stylized heart. This might be our new favorite baby shower gift. $10.00.
Wishing Tree Toys prices are very reasonable, and while we wish they carried more designs, what they are carrying is beautifully made, and a good refuge from the glut of plastic toys on the market today.
