While being a remote employee means you can basically work from anywhere, for many, that ends up being the couch. Roam is a startup that lets you sign one lease and live around the world with less hassle.
Sign one lease, and live in any of Roam's properties—currently Miami, Madrid, and Ubud— for $500 per week for a private suite with a bathroom (longer stays are prioritized). It takes the guesswork out of living abroad, with "organized activities and events, local language classes, and a strong support network of local creatives and professionals." It's coliving, but internationally—with coworking spaces, common areas, kitchens, and top-notch wifi included.
Today, the company announced $3.3 million in seed funding, which they'll use the to open two additional locations in 2016, Buenos Aires and London.
