As we head towards the weekend, all we can think about is how much we would love our own weekend house. We stumbled across Wombat Towers, built on 40-hectares in the Kangaroo Valley, New South Wales and we’ve been picturing ourselves there ever since. Owners Tony White and Alexander Michael wanted 5 things out of their weekend property - 100 acres, views, privacy, rainforest and natural water. They got them all. See more below the jump…

This house can only be reached by a winding track as it is built on the steep mountainside. Owner and architect Alexander Michael was inspired by this challenge and a year later Wombat Towers was complete. With a central living, dining and kitchen space acting as the center of the house, to either side are 2 freestanding bedrooms and a long timber walkway links them all together. Our favorite feature is the 27 meter long reflection pool that runs the length of the house. We like how this home has a really raw, industrial feel and that it doesn’t detract from its beautiful surroundings. See more of Alexander Michael’s portfolio here.

I want to live there.
So simple... *sigh* Though it's green out here... I'd trade up in a heartbeat for that baby!
The setting is lovely, but the house looks as though it isn't actually inhabited by humans (even on the weekends).
A perfect weekend home! Lovely!
