Concerned about your cat litter? Instead of trying to keep up on the latest green advancements, why not let the fuel for your pellet stove pull double duty. Instead of traditional litter, try putting wooden pellets to the test. Bonus: they're even compostable!

The fine folks over at Lifehacker tipped us off to this comprehensive write up on wooden pellets being used as cat litter from Tejas Cattery. Although we've heard a few brief blips on it here and there, this post is fully descriptive of the entire process from start to finish.

Instead of tossing your litter into the trash, when wooden pellets are used the entire mixture can head out back into a compost pile that gets flipped every once in awhile. They report there are several trailers of fresh compost created each year from this, and as an added bonus, wooden pellets are far less expensive than traditional litters!
