It may be too late for me to get to this project this year, but next year, watch out! I'll be making little wood veneer ornaments, gift tags, garland, and maybe even a mobile for a little one's first winter…
Melanie of You Are My Fave and her friend Kirsten of January Jones Prints created wood veneer tree mobiles for their respective babies, with a full how-to for the rest of us. Their mobiles will be adorable year round, of course, but the trees themselves are my favorite type of holiday accessories: warm, wintry, and timeless. A garland of trees, perhaps intertwined with sparkly white lights, would look fabulous all winter, and an extra stash of trees would make perfect year-round gift tags for the nature-lovers in my life. Little ones would even make great cake or cupcake toppers, if you're not suspicious of wood in your food!

Sprout Side Table
I really like this! I have a ton of thrifted embroidery hoops that I want to use for crafts but always forgot about them til after. Maybe next Christmas! This is a nice inspiration pic!
Very neat! I'd make one with stars and hang it above the tree.
Is it just me or are half of mobiles now made for the parents rather than the babies? It's a beautiful mobile to look at while sitting in the rocker feeding, but what does the baby see under it?
