Woodland Wonderland: A Cottage in Poland

Weranda Country

Daria and Jarek live in a timber-lined cabin in the Tatra mountains, sell beautifully handcrafted kitchenware online, and live close to nature. It sounds like a fairy tale, and based on photos of their home, it looks like one too.

Their move to the mountains was spontaneous, a gut decision made after a vacation to the mountains. When they returned home, they gave away half their belongings, packed a few treasured antiques and some spare wood, and moved. They eventually settled in the Podhale, a mountainous region in southern Poland.

The new business, an online store called I Love Nature, was inspired by the move. It fits right in with their ethos to live simply, allowing them sell carved bowls and cutting boards made from reclaimed wood. Their home also reflects this love of nature and simplicity. Each room is a lovely balance of clean lines, rustic touches, and pretty textiles. It's no surprise that having created such an idyllic life in the woods, Daria and Jarek have no intention of returning to urban life.
