The Woody wood rug by YL Design appeals to my inner naturalist in both design and production process. If the cross section of an enormous tree weren't beautifully enough, it's designed to last and is crafted from non-toxic materials.
Designed by Yvette Laduk, the Woody Wood rug was her first interior design object back in 2005. It appears to be the cross section of a huge tree, but instead is made of durable, fire-resistant synthetic fibers. The edges are cut, burnt and fixed for durability.
It is produced in a Cradle-to-Cradle process, ensuring that all materials are limited to non-toxic, non-harmful synthetic materials that have no negative effects on the environment and can be used for years to come without losing quality.
