We always love to run across stunning photos of indoor swings. There's something so whimsical and playful about them, you know, when they don't look too 70s swinger party. So when we posted a picture of Gwyneth Paltrow's living room swing recently, we were absolutely thrilled by a comment we got from a reader who told us a little more about them. Ohdeedoh reader, Gnaana, explained, "In India, we call these "jhoolas" and they are very prevalent in our homes - with styles ranging from very traditional to contemporary. We consider our home our temple and spiritually, the links of the Jhoola are a connection to the heavens." How lovely! And our concerns about our kid's knocking out their teeth on the things? She went on to say, "I've been in many homes with Jhoolas, with lots of kids - have never heard of an accident!" Check out the post she wrote about them on her own blog, and have fun looking at the jhoola mini gallery we pulled together (now that we know what to call them!) Thank you, Gnaana!
