Hanging in my childhood bedroom was a framed "If Mother Says No, Ask Grandmother" done in crewel embroidery. That piece of advice wasn't so handy seeing as neither of my grandmothers lived within a 3-hour drive. Here are fifteen prints: manifestos, proverbs and other words of wisdom you might want to share with your kids.
Some are short and sweet, others wordier or quirky. Perhaps they'll inspire you to turn your own beliefs and credos for a happy, satisfying life into artwork for your kids.

White Enamel Four-P...
This came at a perfect time.
I have a piece of plywood screwed on the lower half of the inside of my front door (to avoid my dog destroying the door underneath from scratching), but I wanted to find a nice quote/saying to paint onto it and 'dress it up' since it's an eyesore but a necessity.
"You are never completely dressed until you WEAR a smile".
"Any day spent sad or unhappy is a day wasted".
"Do not protect yourself by fences but by friends"
"If you live to be 101, I want to live to be 100; so there is a never a day without you".
Some of my favorite quotes. Yes, go ahead and use :o)
How did the poster for Trainspotting get left out of this?

Deteriorata is the most inspirational print I've ever seen:

In the immortal words of Terri Nunn (lead singer of Berlin): "No more words!"
"The hurrier I go,
The behinder I get"
"I spent most of my money on women and beer. The rest I just wasted."
Before my son was born I picked up a print for his room that simply states: "Become who you are", I thought it was such a perfect statement for someone just entering the world.
"Always be yourself -- everyone else is taken."
Anyone else note the (I think unintentional) irony of the middle poster ("Stay Curious")? "FOCUS" is right in the middle, surrounded by two dozen other instructions that encourage you to do anything but focus.
I much prefer the simplicity of Ankuchma's poster -- thanks for the inspiration!
Jdog, in case you're interested the print is available here:

They also have a ton of other great prints...I'm a bit of a print collector so it's hard to restrain myself from buying nearly all of them!
Too much unsolicited advice! I don't need my walls talking at me like that ... that said, I do like "Play a kazoo."
Love all the additional suggestions, too. I like song lyrics, usually from my favorite less well-known songs rather than the more overused popular songs.
@deweydefeatstruman96 The Trainspotting poster, though wise words, was probably left off of a family friendly site due to the language. Some people may be offended by the frequent use of the f*** word.
@ellsie22 - I wasn't exactly serious on that Trainspotting poster, though it is great for anyone that doesn't mind the language.
