Taipei, Taiwan was just named the World Design Capital for 2016 by the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design. Taipei is the fifth city to receive the distinction, after Torino, Seoul, Helsinki, & Cape Town. The ICSID will work with the city to achieve its goals for the 2016 theme, "Adaptive City."
