The race to fit a projector into your mobile phone is on. Soon everyone will be using their slick phones to project images, video and video conference live. Meanwhile, Mint Wireless decided to release the world's smallest pocket projector instead. Mint Wireless, an Australian company headquartered in Sydney, has announced that their Mint V10 is the smallest commercial pocket projector in the world.
At 125 x 55 x 23 mm (or, 4.9 x 2.1 x 0.9-inches), the Mint V10 packs a 20000 hour LED lamp which doesn't need to be warmed up. Mint Wireless also says that the $649 projector will offer 60 minutes worth of viewing at 640 x 480 pixels, from your computer, or using its SD card slot reader or from its internal 1GB memory. A 4:3 aspect ratio will supply with decent video, while inbuilt stereo speakers will supply you with sound.
The projector is manufactured by the Taiwanese company Aiptek and can project a 50" image from 6' away. It comes with the necessary audio and video cables and a small tripod for secure viewing. The projector will be released in September.
This little projector sounds like it's packed full of features and sounds pretty good. The asking price isn't too high, but there will be some sacrifices in quality for obtaining video from a device like this.
