When it's complete, B2 in Brooklyn's Atlantic Yards will be 32 stories of modular apartments that stack together, beating a 24-story dorm in England for the title of tallest modular building. Prefabbing the 450 to 950 square foot apartments rather than using traditional ground up construction will take two thirds the time to complete, and reduce construction waste 70% to 90%. B2, which will be 50% affordable housing, will open in 2014.
