Many trends in décor start in fashion; neon, pastel, and color blocking were on the runway a few seasons before they fully transitioned into the home. Lately, you can't browse an trendy shop without seeing the Milky Way reproduced on leggings or tank tops. But would you decorate with these out-of-this-world prints?
Stars and constellations have been on trend for awhile, but the swirly solar systems are a new take. Though there aren't much in the way of galactic décor as of yet, the print is popping up on textiles like pillows.
Do you see a place for this spacey trend in your home?

White Enamel Flatwa...
Only--and only, mind you-- if you put a unicorn on it.
A unicorn in rainbow suspenders.
Then OK.
Those leggings were clearly made for those shoes.
PS. My eyes are burning!!
As an amateur stargazer, I have to say I'd decorate with this look before I'd wear it. Not sure I want a ballooning gas cloud emblazoned across my rear end.
Specifically, the print on the pillows would be good on an upholstered piece of furniture too - in the movie room or collection display room of someone who's a real geek for sci fi or space it would be a lot of fun with something that is a surprising choice for "nature print".
This is funner than the tights- (though I'd rock them if I was 20 years younger or just 20 pounds lighter). www.ceilingofdreams.com; it is more of a commitment.
I know I've said that before (and lied) but N.O. W.A.Y.
Noo and Noooooo! Well, maybe the cushions in a kids room. MAYBE.
In a basement family/fun room or a kid's room - sure, why not?
Sigh. Yes. I would totally do that. Am I doomed?
The leggings? No way. The pillows look quite fun, though!
I would. But only cause I terribly geeky. Like painfully so.
yup
Like many others, I would never wear gassy tights! -Would probably love the same print as a scarf or subtle T-shirt, but never tights! As far as decor, I'd love it. Used sparingly and in coordination with other prints and patterns, it could be terrific. Especially awesome for a global, map-filled, and/or air transportation-themed room like an office, kids' room, play space, or school room!
The legging would only be appropriate for a tween (and with those shoes?), and I'd say the pillows would have similarly limited appeal.
HATE the leggings but LOVE the pillows!
@alobo Thanks for sharing the "ceiling of dreams" link. That looks amazing. I've never seen anything quite like it. If only I lived in Iowa...
No.
Not unless it's a themed kids' room. SO kitschy.
Absolutely. My fiance is studying aerospace engineering, and my dream is to someday have a futuristic lunar themed living room, complete with a large scale photo mural of a nebula or a picture of the Earth from the moon. Those pillows would be great with a limited color palette of black, white, grey, and silver. Here's my mood board so far: http://tiffanygholar.blogspot.com/2009/07/lunar-living-room.html
@thatkris--awesome.
I can't decide if that material is uglier as pants or pillows.
Conceptually, I don't see why you wouldn't make pants into pillows. Just not with that image.
Oh, wait--the pillows would look at home in Leonard & Sheldon's apartment.
Maybe if I was adding pizzaz to the Starship Enterprise cabins or putting some comfort into Captain Picard's chair.
In other words...nope nope nope.
The inner nerd in me loves the pillows. I think they would be fun for a guest room or child's bedroom.
they really had me laughing at their "heavenly" options! thanks for sharing.
I didn't notice where they are. I wish I could read horror stories of people who took the website at its word and trusted that their beautiful ceiling would still be there even after they sold their house. (Yes, it really says that.) Can you imagine moving into your new house and going to bed the first night to realize you're sleeping under the stars and your ceiling fan is a light outdoor breeze?
duh, space is RAD.
Yes and yes.
