We're looking for a couple new bloggers to add to our editorial team! Do you think you might be a good fit? Jump below for all the details:
WHAT IT IS: A part-time, paid, freelance position for 2-3 posts per week.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR: Someone who thinks their home should be not only healthy and earth-friendly, but also beautiful; who believes that great green design is more than just the amount of recycled content in a given product; a great writer and photographer; someone who has the research and knowledge savvy to find cool new products, furniture, accessories, design ideas, and tips for the green home, and write about them in an engaging and smart way.
REQUIREMENTS
• excellent camera skills and a good eye for stellar images
• a strong style and design sense
• blog-style writing skills, both personal in tone and expedient in delivery
• a good writer, with solid grammar/spelling (no all-small-caps or endless ellipses)
• a reliable computer
• a reliable high speed internet connection
• a good digital camera, preferably DSLR (no camera phones)
• Photoshop or Photoshop Elements
• knowledge of how to use all these things
The link to the Application Form below will ask for the following information:
• Your name and contact information
• How long you have been reading Re-Nest
• Why you're a good fit for our site
• What types of things you're likely to write about
The form will also ask for 2 specific sample posts with text and pictures:
• Either a Green House Call OR a How To tutorial
• A Product or Style or Idea Roundup
POST EXAMPLES
House Call: Angie's 'Something Old, New, Borrowed, and Blue'
How To: How To Build an Ace Hotel-Inspired Plumbing Pipe Shelf and How To Clean Your Bathtub with a Grapefruit and Salt
Product/Style Roundup: Park It Here! Eco-Friendly Outdoor Tables and 10 Fantastic Wood Furniture Makers and Inspirational Small Spaces: Alternating Tread Stairs
Please submit posts written specifically for Re-Nest and not for another blog.
Please do not send links to pre-written online content; we want to see samples that reflect your understanding and focus for Re-Nest specifically.
Please be familiar with the types and topics of posts we already do on a regular basis, and try to offer something new. Use our archives of past posts as a guideline and style guide.
IMPORTANT: Re-Nest is about green living and design in and for the home specifically. We do not cover fashion, personal care, cars, celebrity, or recipes. (We leave the cooking to our sister site The Kitchn.) We support DIY and believe in repurposing; however, we also greatly value and appreciate beauty, and not everything can or should be upcycled.
We are most interested in adding more conscientious style and design content to the site, including specialty columns written by experts in a given field. We are not as interested in adding more repurposing, creative reuse, gardening, or craft content.
DEADLINE: July 31st at midnight PST (earlier is always appreciated!)

Does the fact that the link on the Application being broken mean they have already filled the position? Seems like they just posted this earlier today...
HappyCamperFLA, is the link above not working for you? It's working when I click on it. When you click on "Application Form" above it should take you to a form. But you're getting an error?
Anyone else having this problem?
How often do you hire freelancers? Do they need to be US based?
I would love to apply now, but I'm moving with my family to Bali in a couple of weeks. We have a lot to do to get settled before my son starts at Green School next month.
Bugis, our hiring schedule really depends on what the need is, but it's usually once a year or so.
Would you consider hiring someone from the UK?
I would love to apply. Could you give me an idea on how much you pay your bloggers?
@Helen from Bright Inside, yes! All people from all countries are welcome to apply!
@milanokate - According to this article, Kitchn pays free-lance bloggers $12 a post. IF this is true, I would bet the pay is in the same price range. It would probably be a question to ask during the application/interview process.

The Green House Call example is written in the first person. Does that mean we should write it about ourselves? Or, may we follow in the footsteps of other Green House Calls such as 'Angelina and Brad's Full Moon Farm in the Catskills?'
Thanks!
@girleastlikely, if the House Call is of your house, feel free to write it about yourself! If you're doing a tour of someone else's house, then writing it about them. Whatever fits the house you're featuring.
Hi Cambria,
I know that one day I will write for you- but I don't think it will be this year...
I live in Christchurch, NZ and our last 11 months have been heavy with earthquakes; our homes are all cracked and broken- for a while I couldn't even visit this site as all I could see was the potential for disaster.
Time will heal and soon enough we'll be opening our doors and our hearts and I'll be there, listening, photographing and writing it all down to share with you. Later.

So when and how are those your interested in get contacted? Thans
Oh Re-Nest! Terribly wonderful Re-Nest! Say I didn't just today get wind of your blogger recruiting only to have missed the application deadline by a day? This is a great injustice, as I am a devoted follower and believe I meet the job qualifications, not to mention would be beside myself with pride and joy to nab said job. Yeah, I know what you're thinking: "if you're so devoted, where were you in July when we posted about this?" To which I would LIKE to say "I was summering at my little bungalow on Cape Breton, there was no internet to speak of, darling," but doing so would make me a liar on multiple levels (I'm not even sure if they have bungalows on Cape Breton). The truth is simply that I overlooked the post until today, and I had to give the old college try to convince you, esteemed editors at Re-Nest, that I am a perfect candidate for this position, and to please consider accepting a late application of the promptest nature? That may be an oxymoron, but I assure you there's nothing moronic about it. And on that unforgivable pun, I end this comment.
Hello! Have all the finalists been posted?
