I'm never exactly one to shy away from outlandish sofas. I'm all for bright colors, graffiti, something wild and crazy you wouldn't find anywhere else, but the line might be drawn when you're talking about sitting on someone else's face — specifically Steven Colbert.
This hand painted sofa started out as a basic purchase from IKEA and has taken on a life of its own from artist Matt Charlan. It can come live in your home, office or business for the pretty price of $2,008.87 (because $2,009 just sounds out of line).
No matter how ridiculous you might think it is, you can't deny that it wouldn't catch your eye in a cool boutique when you're out shopping. You'd be unable to deny it's magnetic powers, luring you in, because you'd simply have to take your picture while sitting on it for your Facebook page.
As an in home piece, well we might have a few reservations, but if we saw it in someone else's place there's a good chance we'd high five them for adding in something wild and wacky to fun things up a little.

I would feel blessed to sit on Colbert's face in any form available to me.
Love it, and I feel like Stephen Colbert would appreciate it.
gross
There's only one person who should own that sofa, and that's Stephen Colbert.
I take it the writer is a Regretsy.com reader?
it's funny- fitting his personality!
Personalized gifts are normally gifted to the celebrities. In this economy who pays 2008.87 for an Ikea couch.
hilarious, has it been on his show yet? Or is this too blatant an attempt to get on his show?
I'm with birdablze and lauraincancun. XD But I liked it more while it was still black and white....
There's a reason this was on regretsy...
is the design endorsed by Colbert himself?
Colbert would probably auction it off for charity. My experience with this type of thing is that the artist usually doesn't get paid for it.
hilarious
I think if I had that couch it'd be a total magnet to lure in cute, liberal, funny boys.
I would steal this idea and paint something fun on my couch myself... but what sort of paint would work best? Something that wouldn't feel gross to sit on, and wouldn't rub off on my white jumpsuit?
I'd sit on that man's face any day, whether he wanted me to or not. And he can sit on mine.
Should have a via Regretsy credit.
My great aunt had a photo of herself and her husband printed on a couch. It was the most awkward thing to sit on. You would be sitting on them while talking to them. Maybe eye catching, but terrible for conversation because everyone was always so uncomfortable about it.
Colbert might be different because he's not in the room... but still not great. Better as art than to actually sit on.
Tacky and ugly.
Saw this on Regretsy recently.... Love that the seller keeps changing the price. It was $5k when I looked at it originally, now it's $3,398.77. I personally think it's bizarre.
Does the hooker come with it?
Hilarous! Colbert should put it on his set!
i could sit on stephen colbert's face on a couch... sit... on a couch of stephen colbert's face.
