At first glance the Grippy Pad looks like a horrible accident waiting to happen: a floppy silicone sheet which purports to be able to hold your precious device vertically without any adhesive or additional material...
But then we remembered how secure our Bluelounge Sumo sticks to any surface, utilizing basically the same sort of super tacky silicone mimicking gecko feet. The $11 Grippy Pad sheets probably will be a dust and debris magnet, but they're water washable, which also revitalizes the sticky factor.
Video below of it being tested with a variety of items.

Shaw's Original Fir...
I'd neve rbe able to relax with my iThing just hanging there!
there is no way that would work in every situation.. i am sorry but i do not buy it.. and to think of letting something like that hold my $$$$ main form of contact? not a chance.
I'm one of those guys who marred the back of their iPhone with velcro to have it stick securely to the dashboard.
This thing would be perfect for me. Not sure how it'll do in a moving, bouncing and vibrating car - but for $11 it's worth a shot!
If you think it might work for you, why not try it?
Not sure about others here, but the floor of my car is not made of concrete, so I wouldn't worry about it if it did slip.
I have a similar pad from another brand. It works 100% of time, BUT after some time dust and dirt will lower sticking abilities of the pad. Still useful, I paid less than $3.
I love my gripper pad. The fact that it's not permanent is a big plus. I can take it with me or just change the location from the dash to the center console
