Although it's the dead of winter and many parts of the country are covered with snow, we're still enamored with these recycled hose baskets from artist Chase DeForest. They're a smart use of an item that usually goes straight to the trash when its time is through.
Chase DeForest sells her baskets around the $88 mark, but we're thinking no matter what the price that they're a smart creation. Although you don't usually need to purchase a new hose each season, there might be many who have one or two roaming around in their garage just waiting for a project like this.
Check out more of Chase Deforest's work from her website and we promise you'll never look at another used-up garden hose again without thinking about turning it into a DIY project!

Shaw's Original Fir...
Love!
Wouldn't those be heavy!?
I have one of these and LOVE it! So useful and beautiful.
My girlfriend and I just made one of these as a Christmas present for a friend of hers. It was a fun project and it wasn't too difficult. It looked much cooler without the ends of the zip ties cut off and sticking straight out, though. Green hose with white zip ties made it look almost like a coiled cactus of sorts.
I bet those are really heavy.
WOW. I never would have guessed that's a hose. Vibrant colors - really nice.
These might be good as planters, but I can't imagine carrying it around!
