'Tis the season for wreaths, and on the streets of Annapolis, Maryland, they come in abundance. We had written off door wreaths a long time ago as too stuffy, but these wreaths on colorful doors and house fronts show us that the quaint quality can be desirable. We found these while walking the streets a couple of weeks ago.
Annapolis has a lot to offer the design enthusiast besides gawking at wreaths. We recommend walking around and taking note of the historic buildings, and then walking down Main Street and Maryland Avenue, where you can find numerous antique and home décor shops. If you go, make sure to check out Washingtonian's Visitor's Guide to Annapolis, Maryland first.

This could also be subtitled, the exterior color combinations of Annapolis. I really enjoyed the pictures of the homes and the wreaths--thanks!
true true kilamanjaro, they are not afraid of color!
Annapolis also has a Christmas/Holiday decoration contest, not of the National Lampoon variety, but of the Williamsburg kind. It is a great town.
i love the shingle house with the pink door!!
Yes Annapolis is a wonderful town. But I don't think its wreathes are exactly "desirous." I believe the word the author was looking for is "desirable."
You are right, JoanneM! Nice catch.
Oh, I need to get a wreath for my own annapolis house! I live across the bridge from downtown but we still have some great doors--my own is bright red, and my street has yellow, blue, and more red.
Love the house colors and the wreaths. So welcoming! Great pictures of Annapolis Lindsey.
