This weekend is the annual Wright Auction entitled Mass Modern - the prices are (quite a) bit more accessible than the average Wright auction, but the design is still high. We plan to check it out in person on Saturday and have been reviewing the catalog this week, pulling some favorites.
Today we're posting our top picks for lighting, all Italian, not surprisingly...
Mushroom Lamps: Glass, c. 1965, Italy. Estimate $900 - 1,200.

Gatto Table Lamps: Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Flos. Spun fiberglass and steel, 1960, Italy. Estimate $500 - 700.

Stemlite Lamps: Design Line. Enameled aluminum, glass, c. 1960, Italy. Estimate $300 - 500.

Flash Table Lamp: Joe Colombo for O-Luce. Enameled aluminum, 1968, Italy. Estimate $200-300.

Stemlite lamps were made in the US, I believe.
Stemlites were produced by Design Line, Inc. of El Segundo, CA in the late 1960s and early 1970s and designed by Bill Curry. For more information see billcurry-designline.blogspot.com
