"X" Marks The Spot in Xavier's Room

My Room

Name: Xavier
Location: Vancouver, Canada

We wanted to create a "little boy's" room that "Little X" could grow into; as opposed to a nursery. It also had to fit in with the rest of our apartment's design aesthetic.

Working to a tight budget - like most new parents - a vast majority of the pieces were either gifts from family, or purchased from IKEA. The room was originally our solarium and measures less than 7' x 7'. We also faced the challenge that 3 of the 4 walls were either glass doors or windows.

Decoration-wise, we included a mix of photos, artwork and classic design pieces. And being Australian ex-pats living in Canada, we also wanted the room to have few decorative salutes to our homeland.

Thanks, Amelia & Vic!
